Youth4Jobs Foundation, in partnership with Indian Photography Festival, proposes to hold a first-of-its-kind unique Global Ability Photography Challenge
In the last ten years, Youth4Jobs (www.youth4jobs.org) has been investing in abilities of youth with disabilities through sustained livelihood linkages and Not Just Art promotes Art of artists with disabilities. Photography is a way of celebrating the creative abilities of disabled.
The Ability Challenge is open to all amateur or professional photographers with disabilities. The entries should celebrate stories; their own or others'; their character, their interests; encouraging society to see persons with disabilities and disability itself in a new way. It needs to challenge the stereotypes surrounding disability we face everyday. Through photography, we celebrate your individuality, allowing others to see that disability is just one of the aspects that make your unique identity.
Judges:
A panel of esteemed Judges who will be selected from a global pool of experts will look for sensitivity, originality and visual impact. Most importantly, bringing to focus the ability rather than the disability
Awards:
10 awards will be given to 10 photographers whose works will be displayed for 1 month at the 8th edition of the Indian Photo Festival in Hyderabad at the State Gallery of Art, Hyderabad from November 18th - December 19th 2022 and may tour different cities in India and overseas.

The focus of Youth4Jobs is to move the persons with disabilities from their present vicious cycle of poverty to the virtuous cycle of opportunity. As a system changer, Youth4Jobs works at 3 levels: changing mindsets of communities, colleges and companies; Accessibility: Infrastructure, workplace and technology; and skilling with job linkages for less educated and educated youth with disabilities.
Not Just Art, is a digital platform by Youth4Jobs created to support visual artists with disabilities in India and promote their work to a global audience of art lovers, collectors, museums, and galleries.
Youth4Jobs is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and we are really looking forward to inviting photographers with disabilities from around the world to participate in this one of a kind photography exhibition.
Indian Photography Festival
The Indian Photography Festival (IPF) - Hyderabad, (www.indianphotofest.com/) a Not-For-Profit initiative of Light Craft Foundation is India’s longest running international-level photography festival which draws participation from all around the world and aims at congregating the greatest minds in the field of photography and showcasing the works of emerging & world-renowned photographers from across the world. The 2019 edition saw 750 artists from 60 countries participating at the festival and had exposed the festival to 8.5 lakhs visitors across 15 venues. The festival has placed Hyderabad on the map of the international festival scene in line with the other major cities of the world which have established festivals.
Some of the previous participating photographers include Sebastio Salgado, Reza Deghati (National Geographic), George Steinmeitz (National Geographic), Nick Ut (Associated Press), Stuart Franklin (Magnum Photos), Raghu Rai (Magnum Photos), Ron Haviv (VII Photo), Anush Babajanyan (VII Photo), Andrea Bruce (Noor Images), Pep Bonet (Noor Images), Prashant Panjiar and many more.
Guidelines for submission
Submissions are free and open to all topics and issues.
No identifying mark is allowed anywhere on the entry.
Digital files must be no longer than 2000 Pixels in either height or width and saved as Jpeg (.jpg), in RGB format and not exceed 4 MB per file, at 150dpi.
Only Three entries per applicant are allowed and the last date for submission is October 1st 2022.
The copyright of the images remains with the photographer. All entrants understand that any image submitted to the competition may be used for publicity and promotional purposes in any media related to the competition, at no charge; the photographer will be credited for the use of their work.
The entrant must be the sole author of the photograph and the photograph must be an original work and the entrant is responsible for taking all steps necessary to protect the rights of persons depicted, including but not limited to obtaining their permission. Also the entrant should be responsible for any legal issues related to the entries submitted and agree to pay any costs occurred due to the same.
The winning images will be exhibited during the Indian Photo Festival - HYDERABAD from 18th Nov - Dec 19th 2022 and by submitting an entry, you are agreeing to have prints of your photographs shown in these exhibitions at no charge.
Youth4Jobs reserves the right to suspend or postpone or amend the competition.
Youth4Jobs reserves the right to exclude entries and withhold selection for violating any of its terms and conditions
