IMPACT 2022
The event attracted television and media. Dignitaries and people who attended found the event “inspirational”. Many remarked that they realised now that the disabled too have talent and will see them with a new lens.
Sharlin Akhter, from Bangladesh, one of our finalists was overwhelmed at the response for her submission and expressed pure gratitude for the kind hand-holding. Sharlin has a post-graduate degree in public administration from Dhaka University, and she currently works at as a programme officer. She has multiple disabilities and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and her right hand and leg became paralysed. Despite the challenges she perceives the love for her photography
Two of the photographs by Dr. Rashid, one of our finalists from Delhi were sold “I have never stepped on a stage or dreamt my photos will get sold,” he said, excitedly. Srivatsan, one of our winner, with a speech and hearing impairment, has been chosen as a brand ambassador to spread the message of the Challenge by representing Youth4Jobs/Not Just Art in the Zero Project held in the UN headquarters, Austria in February, this year.
